While some so-called BBS processes masquerade as true employee-driven safety systems, they are in fact little more than behavioral checklists that fail to integrate organizational elements essential to sustained success.

BAPP’s robust model has transformed safety performance for hundreds of client sites across the world. In fact, BAPP technology is proven to reduce incidents (on average) by 25% in one year, 35% in two, and 45% after just three years of implementation.
This remarkable success rate caught the eye of researchers and industry leaders alike. One independent academic researcher in particular took notice. This researcher out of the Cambridge University Judge School of Business had firsthand experience with just how successful BAPP is while working in the field with a few of our clients. His perception was that we were doing something uniquely sustainable and impactful, and he wanted to know how it worked and if there were general lessons for business process interventions that could be adapted to other problems.
The result is an exhaustive study of over 3 million behavior-based safety observations, monthly incident frequencies, and exposure hours from nearly 360 client sites. The findings confirm BAPP’s enduring success rate and reveal some surprising insights into how leaders can optimize the process’s effectiveness.
